A customer contacted us with an interesting issue that could happen to many of you.
His 9V battery for his Fishman pickups was dead. But the 9V battery for his Push-Push Boost was okay.
Why was that?
It was because the 9V battery for his Fishman was not switching off causing the pickups to drain the battery.
The Fix: Create an On/Off Switch
The goal: Connect the 9V battery ground wire to the black wire on the Push-Push Boost wiring harness.
Option A: Splice the black wire and connect the battery ground.
Option B: Solder a wire from the Ring lug on the TRS jack to the battery ground.
After it is completed, an on/off switch is created at the output jack. When the guitar jack is connected, the switch is on. When the guitar jack is not connected, the switch is off.
If you have active pickups, it’s something to keep in mind. You need to have a way to switch off the battery ground. The way it’s done is by soldering a wire to the Ring on the TRS jack.
