About the name
Well, I was a reader of the UK tech blog The Register which used the cheeky British term “boffin” to describe scientists or experts. I would always get a chuckle out of it. But, it all came together when I had read an interview with Jimmy Page calling the effect pedal pioneer Roger Mayer a “boffin.” Boffin FX it is.
